GTO Mini-Gathering

Andy Bird was the only guy who could make it in the end. Andy owns a 94 Jap import silver twin turbo and acquired his car in February 2000.

Andy took me for a spin in his twin turbo - this is the first time I've experienced the acceleration of a twin turbo and I was so impressed I am seriously considering upgrading! It made my car seem pedestrian by comparison (mine's a non-turbo) :-(

Interestingly, Andy's car seemed to be missing quite a few features I thought were standard, e.g. No 4WS, no fog/driving lamps, no cruise control and no stereo remote control on the steering wheel.

I originally wanted to hold the meeting on a weekend, but changed it to a weekday in order to try and get people together earlier. Unfortunately, various people were out of the country, another's car broke down, others had to work late....etc.,etc.... Perhaps we will do it on a weekend next time and get more people out (I have about 10 e-mail addresses on file now). Keep sending those e-mails and we will arrange another date and try and get somewhere in the region of a dozen GTO's together!
